The Greenwood golf course will be closing at the end of this season, for good.
14 Wing Greenwood Commander Colonel Pat Thauberger has announced this will be the last season for the military course. A saturated golf environment in The Valley in recent years has presented challenging business operations. He also said other recreational investments by the wing in support of morale and welfare programs are being reviewed.
The Trudeau government has introduced its marijuana bill.
Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says the long-standing prohibition against pot has been an abject failure, police are spending $3 billion a year trying to stamp out cannabis use.
The bill spells out who can legally buy pot and outlines tough new penalties for selling to minors, but it leaves many regulations up to the provinces such as age limits and where it can be sold.
