Provincial Trade Minister Michel Samson doesn’t think Nova Scotia mills will be on a list of softwood lumber tariffs expected from the Trump administration today.
Samson says the American lumber lobby has exempted Nova Scotia from its list of targets for the 20% duty as it has in the past. But he also told CBC it’s not clear whether the Trump administration will go along with that recommendation.
