Rodger Cuzner, Member of Parliament for Cape Breton-Canso, last night announced $87,000 in funding for the Town of Port Hawkesbury to host the 2017 Elite 10 – Grand Slam of Curling, March 16-19, 2017.
Additional support for the project includes $35,000 from the Province of Nova Scotia’s Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage.
A majority of Atlantic Canadians support the federal government screening potential immigrants for Canadian values. The latest Corporate Research Associates survey had 68% completely or mostly in favour, with 26% completely or mostly opposed. 6% don’t know or didn’t say, with the overall level of support consistent across provinces.
