Charges for a Glace Bay man

A Glace Bay man will remain in custody a while longer after being charged in a string of robberies.

39 year old Glenn Thomas Perry is charged with armed robbery, a weapons count and possession of stolen property in connection with armed holdups in Sydney and Glace Bay.  He was scheduled for a bail hearing Monday but that has been delayed until June 22.

Three other men have also been charged in connection with the robberies here as well as in Antigonish, Bible Hill and Lower Sackville.

NS Grabher case

The provincial Supreme Court will hear the Grabher case February 1st.

Lorne Grabher’s personalized licence plate was revoked by the Registry of Motor Vehicles as “socially unacceptable.”  Grabher has said his family is proud of its Austrian-German heritage and he shouldn’t face discrimination just because his name is unusual.

His lawyers will argue that the plate’s removal violates the Charter of Rights and Freedoms.
