The East Coast Music Association is now offering free membership to those already in provincial counterparts. Members of Music New Brunswick, PEI, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as the Cape Breton Music Industry Cooperative are eligible. The ECMA is doing this in part to raise awareness of the perks of being involved both provincially and regionally.

Water rates up as of Canada Day
You’re paying more for water as of Saturday.
The Utility and Review Board has approved CBRM’s application to amend its rates for water…first increase since 2013.
For unmetered customers, the rate hike is 15.9% this year, 2.9% next year and 3.4% the year after. For 5/8” meter residential customers, this year’s hike is 14.8%. For all other homes on meters, it’s 16.5% this year.
