Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan is set to unveil the Trudeau Government’s new defence policy.
Sajjan is expected to cast some light on what is being called a massive hold in defence spending. The extent of the effect of years of underspending hasn’t been well understood outside of DND. That shortfall is expected to be the main focus of his speech to defence industry reps.
A Senate Committee has recommended disgraced senator Don Meredith be expelled because of his sexual relationship with a teenage girl.
His lawyer says Meridith won’t have any immediate comment until he’s had a chance to review the report. Meridith has five days to respond to the senate before it can vote whether to remove him from the Upper Chamber, something which has never happened before.
