Grass will be legal in Canada next July, no matter what.
Some provinces have expressed concerns Ottawa is moving too quickly and want more time to get ready, but Finance Minister Bill Morneau says the feds are sticking to the guideline of July 1st next year.
The Trudeau Government has introduced a bill which is supposed to give the federal information watchdog the power to order the release of government records, but it doesn’t close a number of loopholes which keep files locked away from the public’s eyes.
The legislation does place the burden to show why documents must be kept secret on the shoulders of the government or others who object.
