Council to Improve Classroom Conditions set

The province’s Council to Improve Classroom Conditions has been set.  It has nine teachers chosen by school board superintendents, as well as a student, a parent, and a guidance counsellor appointed by the government.  The council will have $20 million over two years to address classroom issues including data collection, complex classrooms,class sizes and the student attendance policy.  Learn more at novascotia.ca/classroomcouncil.

UNB women’s hockey advertising for coach for varsity return

The University of New Brunswick women’s hockey team is advertising for a coach, to get ready for next year’s return to varsity.  The team is returning to varsity status in 2018-19 after a lengthy battle over human rights.  The school downgraded the team to club status in 2008 citing funding issues, but the provincial Labour and Employment Board ruled it discrimination.
