Blunt trauma was found to be a cause of death for at least two right whales. Three of six carcasses were brought to Norway, PEI for post-mortems after being found in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Marine Animal Response Society adds it’s too early to rule out anything beyond blunt trauma for the two whales, and the third was killed by entanglement.

Provincial funding for walkway in Sackville
$150,000 in provincial funding has been announced for a Canada 150 walkway in downtown Sackville. It’ll include six focal points: two metal benches and a new shelter in Memorial Park; a significant addition to the skateboard park; a plaque recognizing the Boultenhouse Heritage Centre and Anderson Octagonal House; relocating the Sackville Art Wall to the entrance of the Waterfowl Park; a new George Stanley sculpture and memorials for him at the cemetery and his gravesite.
