Five people were arrested after multiple separate shoplifting incidents Thursday in Miramichi. A 45-year-old Bathurst man is being charged with attempting to steal lobster from the Douglastown Sobeys, while 40- and 75-year-old men and 39- and 67-year-old women were taken in after incidents at Sobeys and Walmart. All four of them are from outside Miramichi.

Ottawa took a two nothing series lead in the Eastern Confernece semifinal after a 6-5 double ot win over the Rangers;
Elsewhere it was the Penguins with 6-2 win over Washington – Pittsburgh now leads that series two games to none.
