Ottawa and the country’s five major banks will be setting up a new fund aimed at helping small and medium sized businesses grow. Finance Minister Bill Morneau and the CEOs of the banks will make the official announcement today on Bay Street.

Genetic testing bill nixed
Liberal backbenchers joined Conservatives and New Democrats to shoot down a bill that bars Health and life insurance companies from forcing clients to disclose any genetic testing results.
The backbenchers went against the wishes of Prime Minister Trudeau who said the government had to defend the constitution and that the bill intruded on provincial jurisctions.
