NB booze plans

NB Liquor’s plans to expand sales of wine in grocery stores is in line with the New Brunswick government’s call for millions more in alcohol sales.

That could generate up to 20 million dollars in additional revenue.

But some critics have questioned that, by arguing the wine experiment at a few grocery stores across the province should end because it was fuelling alcoholism.

Citizenship Bill

Immigration minister Ahmed Hussen says he’ll consider amendments to allow an appeal process in immigration cases where people with dual citizenships are stripped of their Canadian citizenship.

Hussen says he believes the legislation passed by the former Conservative government is sound, even though there’s no guarantee of an appeal for someone losing their citizenship.
