Sawmills and woods workers are bracing for another hit from the U-S today.
More American duties are expected to put on softwood lumber imports from some smaller producers. They were already hit by duties up to 24% in April, and now five of them are expected to be hit by another 10% levy. Some companies have already closed mills.
One man suffered serious injuries after his vehicle struck a concrete wall at the Lower Sackville Public Library this morning. RCMP say the man’s truck struck the concrete wall of the library’s wheelchair ramp shortly after 7am. No other vehicles were involved. The man driving the truck was seriously injured. RCMP remain on the scene and say there will be traffic delays on Sackville drive while they investigate.
