Filmmaker George Romero has died. His 1968 cult classic “Night of the Living Dead” turned zombie movies into social commentaries, with critic Roger Ebert calling it one of the best horror films ever made. Romero’s manager says he died yesterday in Toronto after a brief battle with lung cancer. He was 77.
