President Donald Trump has triggered the 90 day consultation window required before they can begin renegotiating NAFTA.
Trump’s letter to congress cited a need to modernize the 23 year old trade deal and need for new provisions relevant to the modern economy. The U-S says it has seen its manufacturing industry decimated, factories shuttered, and people lose their jobs since 1993, and that will change with the renegotiations.
