US travel ban

States that challenged Donald Trump’s original travel ban will continue to challenge the new one.

The Trump administration roled out the new executive ordered banning people from six countries…just leaving Iraq off the list this time.

Maura Healey, attorney general of Massachusetts; calls the new ban misguided, and an effort to fulfil a “discriminatory” and unconstitutional campaign promise.  Virginia claims that while the new version appears to be significantly scaled back, it still sends what she calls “a horrible message” to the world.

Meanwhile, Ottawa is studying that new travel ban, which doesn’t go into effect until March 16th.

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says his people are studying the revised version to see how it affects us, but for now he says it appears Canadian citizens and permanent residents will be treated as they’ve always been.
