Another right whale likely died after being hit by a ship. Preliminary necropsy results this week suggest that, adding to others where that was determined to be a cause. Seven carcasses have been found in the Gulf of St. Lawrence in the last month, with another showing evidence of chronic entanglement and one too decomposed to find out.

Two Cape Breton doctors reprimanded by College of Physicians and Surgeons
Two Cape Breton doctors have been reprimanded by the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Nova Scotia.
Dr. Ronen Jhirad was reprimanded after duplicates of his patient records were found in the trash by patients at a mental health facility. The surgeon no longer practises in Canada.
The college has imposed a licensing sanction on Northside General Hospital’s Dr. John Kirkpatrick who failed to recognize a patient’s lower back pain as a rare but serious condition.
Both doctors will contribute to the costs of the investigations.
