Ferry service between North Sydney and Port Aux Basques is expected to resume this morning after a storm battering Newfoundland cancelled crossings on Saturday. The storm, which packed Hurricane winds and damaged a number of buildings in Newfoundland, was also expect to bring up to 30 cm of snow to that province. Ferry crossings are expected to resume at 11:45 am this morning.

MADD Canada Urging Province to Prepare for Drug Driving
MADD Canada is urging Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to better prepare for drivers impaired by drugs. The head of Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Atlantic Canada says New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have yet to put a legislative framework in place for identifying and combatting people driving under the influence of drugs. Susan MacAskill tells the CBC there is growing concern that more drug users will hit the roads under the influence as efforts increase to legalize the recreational use of marijuana.
