A Nova Scotia court has ordered a woman to return one of two dogs caught in the middle of bitter custody dispute. Matthew MacDonald returned home from Fort McMurray, Alberta to Nova Scotia with the two Yorkshire terriers after splitting for good from his live-in girlfriend Brittany Pearl. When Pearl visited Nova Scotia last November MacDonald allowed her to take the dogs out for a walk but she never returned with the animals. Instead she took them back to Alberta. MacDonald brought the custody battle before small claims court and an adjudicator has now ruled Pearl must return one of the dogs but will be allowed to keep the other.
