Mayor Cecil Clarke and members of the CBRM Council received notice Friday of the resignation of Chief Administrative Officer Michael Merritt, who after almost three years of service will be leaving to return to his family in Alberta. Mr. Merritt will remain CAO of the municipality until Jun. 30. During this time, CBRM Mayor and Council will begin the process of hiring a new Chief Administrative Officer.

Pilot Project on Immigration
The Atlantic Immigration Pilot Project is underway. The three-year employer-driven program is designed to attract and retain talented immigrants while supporting population growth and addressing labour shortages. The pilot project will welcome 2000 additional immigrants and their families to the four Atlantic Provinces, a key component of the Atlantic Growth Strategy.
