The RCMP are investigating after a drone flew over an emergency scene in Avonport. Crews were at a single-vehicle accident on the 101 Monday afternoon, and a helicopter pilot noticed the drone flying very close. The proximity was of great concern to responders. Transport Canada has rules for drones, and breaking them could see fines or jail time.

The Conservatives are dismissing Liberal suggestions their cross-border campaign against the taxpayer-funded multi-million dollar settlement payout to Omar Khadr will impact upcoming NAFTA negotiations. Tory Leader Andrew Scheer says the two issues are not connected, and that he’s not about to play politics when it comes to trade talks with America.
