No pot amnesty

With the legalization of marijuana likely happening by next summer, Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale is ruling out a general amnesty for past pot convictions.

The Trudeau government is not considering a blanket pardon for people who ended up with criminal records for simple possession of small amounts of grass.  It says the move to legalization doesn’t mean lax law enforcement during the transition.

The Leafs now have a two game to one lead in their playoff series after beating the Capitals 4-3 in overtime.  The Flames are about the fizzle out losing their third straight to Anaheim, 5-4 in overtime last night.  The Senators beat the Bruins 4-3 in OT to take a two game to one lead.  Nashville won its third straight downing the Blackhawks 3-2.

In baseball, the Blue Jays were off.  The Red Sox edged the Rays 4-3, as the Yankees downed the White Sox 7-4.
