Prime Minister Justin Trudeau took a helicopter tour of the flood zone in Gatineau yesterday and asked Canadians to help by contributing to the Red Cross. Ottawa’s given it a million dollars already for the flood relief.
3,000 people have been evacuated from over 4,100 homes which have been flooded.
When Conservatives gather in Toronto to choose a new leader in a couple of week, the old leader won’t be there.
Stephen Harper wil be a no show. A party official just says the former PM is simply ready to pass the torch, but it won’t be in person. He has however offered advice to a number of the leadership candidates.
