“Ellen’s Law” is now in effect
Cyclists and drivers in New Brunswick are being reminded that “Ellen’s Law” is now in effect.
Drivers must leave at least one metre of open space between their vehicle and a bicycle, when passing a bike that’s travelling in the same direction.
The amendment is named in memory of New Brunswick cyclist Ellen Watters, who died in December after being hit by a vehicle while on a training ride near Sussex.
