New Stats Can data has the majority of unpaid work still being done by women.  Women spent 3.6 hours a day on average doing household chores, shopping and the like in 2015; men did 2.4 hours on average.  Regional stats include Atlantic Canadian fathers being the least involved in meal prep, at 53%.

Loans from the feds

The federal government has announced taxpayer-funded loans and loan guarantees to help forest companies, with a view to explore new markets and innovations.  It includes 260 million dollars to help diversify the market for Canadian lumber products after the US imposed new tariffs.
