Bill Cosby

A spokesman for Bill Cosby is dangling the possibility that the entertainer may testify at his sexual assault trial, but legal experts say it would be a major risk.

Cosby is on trial on charges that he drugged and molested a Canadian woman at his home in suburban Philadelphia in 2004.

Prosecutors have rested their case after five days of testimony and the defence takes over on Monday.

A spokesman for the 79-year-old told reporters during a lunch break Friday that Cosby’s team is still evaluating whether to have him take the stand.

Trump – NATO

Donald Trump says America is committed to the defence of its allies under Article 5 of the NATO treaty.

The U-S president made the assertion yesterday, casting aside worries that his failure to mention it last month signalled a weakening of the alliance.

European countries and others expressed concern when Trump didn’t mention Article 5 during a speech at NATO headquarters in Brussels.

The clause has only been invoked once, after the September 11th terror attacks.
