Roger Melanson is now chair of the nationwide Committee on Internal Trade. It’s comprised of federal, provincial and territorial ministers, and governs rules for trade across provincial boundaries. The approved-in-principle Canada Free Trade Agreement is expected to come into effect in the coming months.

North end Greco broken into
Police are investigating a break-in overnight yesterday in the north end. The Greco Pizza on Somerset Street was targeted, although nothing was reported missing. There’s no suspect in mind at this time.
