A pair of Maritimers narrowly missed the cut to become Canada’s next astronauts. Alex Delorey of Moncton and Michael Anthony Jordan from Halifax had been shortlisted from thousands of applicants to be among the final 17 candidates. However, neither made the final cut when Canada’s two new astronauts were announced during Canada Day celebrations in Ottawa yesterday. Conservative Leader Visits Sussex
The new Conservative opposition leader Andrew Scheer visited Sussex on Saturday. Scheer made stops at Robinson’s Farm and the 4 Corners area, commenting on the beauty of the region. He took time to answer a few questions, expressing concerns over marijuana legalization and the harm it could do if minimum age requirements are set too low. After his visit Sheer departed for Charlottetown.
