Marissa Shephard sentenced for assault

Marissa Shephard has been sentenced to four months in jail for assaulting a guard at the women’s jail in Miramichi last summer.

The 21 year old Shephard, awaiting a preliminary hearing on a first degree murder charge in Baylie Wylie’s death, pleaded guilty to spitting in a guards eye at the jail where she’s on remand.

The guard went to her cell because Shephard was biting her own arm and banging her head against the wall.
