Port Saint John Loses Big Customer to Halifax

One of Port Saint John’s largest customers is leaving in favour of Halifax. Tropical Shipping has announced it will be relocating to the Nova Scotia capital and leaving Saint John as of January 9th. Tropical Shipping has been one of Port Saint John’s largest customers for the past 15 years, moving more than 40-thousand containers through Saint John each year. In a release, the company says it will still maintain its local office in Saint John after the move. Tropical Shipping’s last sailing out of Port Saint John is scheduled for December 27th.
