MADD Canada Urging Province to Prepare for Drug Driving

MADD Canada is urging Nova Scotia and New Brunswick to better prepare for drivers impaired by drugs. The head of Mothers Against Drunk Driving in Atlantic Canada says New Brunswick and Nova Scotia have yet to put a legislative framework in place for identifying and combatting people driving under the influence of drugs. Susan MacAskill tells the CBC there is growing concern that more drug users will hit the roads under the influence as efforts increase to legalize the recreational use of marijuana.

Police Looking for Wanted Shediac Man

Police are looked for a Shediac man wanted for aggravated assault. RCMP say 22-year-old Jean-Francois Mallet has been charged with aggravated assault, mischief and breaching probation and warrant has been issued for his arrest. Mallet has been charged in connection with the assault of a woman in Trois Ruisseaux on March 7th that left the victim with serious injuries. Mallet is described as five foot six, 130 pounds, with blond hair, blue eyes and a medium build. Police believe their are people in the community that may know his whereabouts.
