In the Q-League playoffs, the Mooseheads’ season is over; as they were eliminated in game six by the Huskies 5-2.  The Screaming Eagles are going to game seven tonight after a 5-1 win by the Olympiques last night.

In the NBL, the Miracles lost 114-109 to the Orangeville A’s at the Coliseum.

In NHL action, the Leafs beat Buffalo 4 to 2.

The Habs got past the Panthers 4 to 1.

Detriot beat the Sens 5 to 4.

In baseball, Baltimore got past the Jays 3 to 2.

In the MHL, Miramichi beat Summerside 5 to 2.

Truro got past Amherst 5 to 1.

Independent agency to handle future property assessment; indie review to look into others

Legislation will be introduced to create an independent agency to handle property assessments.  Premier Brian Gallant also says an independent review will look into how Service New Brunswick calculated them for this and recent years.  The amount of appeals has hit over 9500, with a couple of thousand assessments learned to have been rushed through the system.  An arbitrary formula was used this year and in 2011.
