Election tampering allegations

Tory MP Michael Cooper alleges that the left-wing U.S.-based Tides Foundation donated nearly 700 thousand dollars to eight organizations that registered as third parties for the 2015 federal election that saw liberal Justin Trudeau squeak into power.

Those groups claim they swayed the election to oust the Conservatives.

The number of complaints about third-party activities during the last election jumped almost nine-fold over the previous one.

Canada Elections told The Canadian Press there were 105 complaints related to third-party activities in the 2015 campaign.

After the 2011 ballot, the number of complaints was just 12.

Cooper points out that foreign influence is a serious issue, and that Canadians deserve elections that are free from foreign interference and influence.

Miramichi Pay Center

The feds will spend 142 million dollars of taxpayers money over two years to hire more workers at the Miramichi Pay Center.

Pay transactions have backed up under the new Phoenix system, leaving tens of thousands of public servants underpaid; overpaid or not paid at all.

There are about 600 people working at the Miramichi centre right now.
