A Halifax Teenager is facing charges of trying to extort a 12-year-old girl from the States after convincing the girl to send him photos online. Police say the 16-year-old boy told the girl in Washington State that he would send her gift cards in exchange for the photos. He later demanded more pictures and the girl refused. At that point the boy allegedly threatened to post the original photos online if she didn’t send more. Halifax Police searched a residence on Parkland Drive on Tuesday and arrested the 16-year-old. He’s been charged with two counts of child luring, one count of possession of child pornography and one count of extortion.
