Majority of Nova Scotians agree with reinstating minority ridings: CRA

A new poll suggests most Nova Scotians support reinstating minority ridings, as per a Court of Appeal ruling.  Corporate Research Associates says 61% are in favour, with 23% not.  16% don’t know or didn’t say.  Eliminating four ridings for Acadians and African Nova Scotians was deemed unconstitutional, with the Court of Appeal saying they should be reinstated.

O’Leary says Atlantic Canada would lose transfer payments if it hinders his economic plan

Kevin O’Leary says his only campaign promise is to grow Canada’s GDP by 3%, and this region could lose equalization payments if it hinders that.  The Conservative leadership candidate told Charlottetown’s Guardian newspaper he would meet with premiers to see how they’d help achieve the growth target.  He specifically mentioned cutting transfers to New Brunswick and Nova Scotia if the natural gas moratorium isn’t lifted.
