New Minas and the province are debating the name for a new highway interchange on the 101.
New Minas wants the moniker to be “Mercantile Drive,” but Kings County Councillor Jim Winsor says that the province prefers the name “Granite Connector Road.”

Acaciaville project
A new community centre will be built in Digby County to commemorate the black community in the area thanks to funding from the taxpayer’s in the province.
They’re putting up $2.25 million toward the centre in Acaciaville. It will include space for a pre-school, youth and adult learning; as well as recreation and cultural programming, plus retail space.
