It was a busy weekend for fire fighters around the province putting out grass fires.
They are remainding people to be extra careful and pay attention to restrictions on burning when cleaning up their properties.
Saturday saw three fires in the Stewiacke area at the same time including a fairly big one in the Milford area covering a couple of acres.
There’s an increasing number of Mexicans seeking asylum in Canada.
New figures from the Immigration and Refugee Board show that March recorded the highest number yet of new claims so far this year, 110 compareed to 85 in February and 71 in January. That’s 266 in the first three months compared to 241 in all of last year. One of the main reasons is Canada dropped the requirement for Mexicans to get a visa before coming here.
