Body found in Gardiner Mines

A man is in custody after a woman’s body was found in a residence in Gardiner Mines outside Glace bay yesterday.

Police were called to the house on O’Brien Street around noon.  They found the body of a woman and took a man into custody.

Police aren’t releasing much in the way of detail about what happened, just that the two know each other; nothing about reports there’s a son.

The major crime unit is investigating.

Passenger rights

Transport Minister Marc Garneau has repeated that airline passenger rights legislation is coming.

This comes after the latest passenger overbooking bumping story which involved a 10 year old PEI boy being bumped from a vacation flight with his family.

Garneau didn’t comment on any specifics in the pending bill, only that it’ll be fair for passengers and practical for airlines.
