Regional council has voted to put together an expert panel to advise it on whether Edward Cornwallis’ name should be removed from municipal properties.
Councillor Shawn Cleary introduced the motion and said we’re building a new relationship with the Indigenous community in Canada and he thinks we need to do that in Halifax as well.
There have also been calls in the past to rename the Cornwallis River.

Gabor Lukacs bought a Dell laptop in 2016. An ad said it had 13.5 hours of battery life. He found it only lasted three to five hours.
He complained. Dell offered a full refund of several hundred dollars but insisted on a confidentiality clause. A small claims court adjudicator ordered Dell to pay $1,900 and ruled a confidentiality clause can’t be added after a deal is made.
