Information and Privacy Commissioner Catherine Tully wants more power to get the government to comply with her orders to release information.

Tully says it should be up to the province to have to go to court to block the release of information and not on citizens to get it released.

Tully has released 34 recommendations on modernizing and strengthening the access and privacy laws and allow for electronic disclosure.

Ransomware attack

A huge ransomware attack has hit European businesses and governments as well as individuals.

It may have first spread through a piece of Ukrainian accounting software.  Experts say the malicious software may have originated in a rogue update to the MEDoc program.

Yesterday’s attack paralyzed hospitals, government offices and major multinational corporations.  It seems to be spreading more slowly across North America.
