BC NDP

British Columbia is getting an NDP government for the first time in 16 years.

The New Democrats and Green party teamed up to defeat the Liberals of Christy Clark in a non-confidence vote, and the Lieutenant Governor then asked John Horgan to form a government.  It too will be a minority with the NDP and three Green party members totalling 44 seats in the 87 seat legislature.

NDP military comments

Federal New Democrats have expressed concern about the Trudeau Government’s decision to extend our mission in Iraq by another two years.

Outgoing leader Tom Mulcair claims that means our military will work with the Iraqi military which, according to recent reports, has committed human rights violations including torture, disappearances and extra-judicial killings.
