Exec.Dir. of Murdered and Missing Indigenous Women inquiry resigns

The executive director of the inquiry into murdered and missing indigenous women Michele Moreau has resigned. She is saying it’s for personal reasons and will be effective July 21.

Some First Nations leaders have complained they haven’t been adequately consulted about hearings and are critial of the progress so far.

The Chief commissioner Marion Buller said the resignation was met with sadness and promised improved communication.

Problems with Interac

If you were trying to transfer money electronically through Interac the past couple of days, you may have had problems.

Interac says an internal technical issue prompted it to temporarily take its e-Transfer service offline. It says the system and data are secure and teams are working to restore full service.

Some users took to social media yesterday to complain, saying they couldn’t pay their rents and other bills.
