Blunt trauma was found to be a cause of death for at least two right whales. Three of six carcasses were brought to Norway, PEI for post-mortems after being found in the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The Marine Animal Response Society adds it’s too early to rule out anything beyond blunt trauma for the two whales, and the third was killed by entanglement.

Federal Tory leader Scheer on regional tour
Federal Conservative leader Andrew Scheer was in New Brunswick for part of Canada Day weekend. He arrived in Saint John Friday, then visited Saint Andrews, Nackawic and Sussex. Scheer wants to get a presence out here after the Liberals swept Atlantic ridings in the last election.
