Sajjan still taking heat for battle comments

Federal Liberal Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan apologized yesterday for over-emphasizing his role in a major battle in Afghanistan in 2006.  He admitted he was not the architect of that battle.

The apology wasn’t enough for interim Conservative leader Rona Ambrose who says men and women in uniform have lost confidence in the minister, and he should resign.

Prime Minister Trudeeau claims Sajjan has his full confidence.

Communists riot in Montreal

People took to the streets of Montreal on May Day yesterday to protest what they called the “scheming rich.”  The group calls itself the “anticapitalist convergence” and has demonstrated on International Workers’ Day for ten years.

This time it turned violent.  Several in the crowd threw canisters of pink gas at police, who fired tear gas back.  Red flags, black masks and other trash littered the streets after the smoke cleared with the protestors vanishing into the subway system.
