G-7 leaders’ summit

The Prime Minister’s Office is confirming or denying reports Justin Trudeau is set to announce that Quebec will host the 2018 G-7 leaders’ summit.  The Liberal M-P for Charlevoix-Cote-de-Beaupre says she has unofficial confirmation that her riding will get it.

It would be the sixth time since 1981 that Canada has hosted the meetings, most recently in Ontario’s Muskoka region in 2010.

Travel ban debate

Attorney General Jeff Sessions says the US Justice Department will ask the Supreme Court to review an appeals court ruling that blocked the travel ban.  The 4th U-S Circuit Court of Appeals ruled 10-3 against Donald Trump’s proposal on Thursday, saying it likely violates the constitution.
