It’ll take six months to fix the problem that grounded the military’s fleet of new Cormorant helicopters in March, but they are slowly getting back into the air.

Colonel Peter Allan, wing commander at Shearwater, says a software problem caused a severe bump during a training flight.  There was a sudden drop in altitude before the pilot landed safely.  They traced the bump to a software issue in the which caused a sudden restart of the system.

Illegal granted refugee status

One of the first illegals to cross the border from the U-S to Manitoba has now been granted refugee status.

Afraid of being deported from the U-S, Razak Iyal made the frigid journey five months ago and lost his fingers to frostbite in the dangerous trek, but he claims it was worth it to be safe in Canada.

The 35 year old native of Ghana was granted refugee status after saying he could have been killed if he was sent back to his home country.
