PD day changes in NB

New Brunswick’s Anglophone school districts will have five half-day professional development sessions for the first time next year.

Officials say that is to balance the same amount of PD time more evenly during the school year, making it more effective for teachers; while keeping kids in class as long as possible.

Next year, there are five half-days when students will be dismissed after a morning of classes.

The Trudeau Government has introduced long-awaited security legislation after consulting with tens of thousands of Canadians.

The bill would limit the ability of the Canadian Security Agency to disrupt terrorist plots, but would also give it the power to conduct its own  cyberattacks against foreign targets.

The bill would also set up a new watchdog to bring all security services, including the military; under one umbrella.
