Another right whale likely died after being hit by a ship. Preliminary necropsy results this week suggest that, adding to others where that was determined to be a cause. Seven carcasses have been found in the Gulf of St. Lawrence in the last month, with another showing evidence of chronic entanglement and one too decomposed to find out.

Leibovitz collection still awaiting certification for Art Gallery of NS
Art Gallery of Nova Scotia Director Nancy Noble is waiting for a ruling on the fate of an Annie Leibovitz collection. It was donated four years ago but hasn’t been displayed. An independent federal review board had refused to certify most of the pictures as having cultural significance, but Noble says certification is an important tax incentive for donors.
