Lunenburg council fight

Lunenburg’s council has reversed a decision to kick Councillor Brian Davis off two key council committees.

Mayor Rachel Bailey and councillors Danny Croft and Ronnie Bachman removed Davis from all committees last month after he objected to the number of meetings being held behind closed doors.  He talked to a lawyer who said council overstepped its authority.  After the Mayor and councillors got their own legal opinion the two sides worked out a compromise that sees Davis back on the committees.
