Federal pot bill

The Trudeau government has introduced its marijuana bill.

Public Safety Minister Ralph Goodale says the long-standing prohibition against pot has been an abject failure, police are spending $3 billion a year trying to stamp out cannabis use.

The bill spells out who can legally buy pot and outlines tough new penalties for selling to minors, but it leaves many regulations up to the provinces such as age limits and where it can be sold.

Transport Minister Marc Garneau issues a warning to domestic airlines

You’ve seen the video of a man being violently hauled off a United Airlines flight because the airline overbooked.

Now Transport Minister Marc Garneau has a tough message for airlines, don’t do that in Canada.  Garneau has sent a letter to all airlines operating in Canada that forcibly removing a passenger from an overbooked flight won’t be tolerated.  He called the incident appalling.
